The term “UFO” is an abbreviation for
“Unidentified Flying Object”. UFO’s have
become synonymous with “flying saucers”,
but are quite simply aerial anomalies of which
the identity or cause has yet to be
determined. It stands to reason that, once
identified, they then become what Ufologists
term an “IFO”, or Identified Flying Object.
About 80-85% of UFO sightings reported to
the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), an
investigative organization specializing in the
investigation of UFO’s and extraterrestrial
entities for the benefit of all Mankind, turn
out to have simple, natural explanations or to
be manmade objects. What is interesting are
the remaining 10-15%, termed as
“unknowns”. These sightings gain an
incredible level of scientific scrutiny from the
investigators, forensic scientists, and
