isolated, legends and myths about seemingly the same things were very different in name and sometimes in
attributed behaviors. One civilization’s good monster or ghost is another’s bad ogre or poltergeist. Partly due to this
disparity in legends, humans of later years do not give them much credence.
Today, an understanding in the paranormal and supernatural is emergent. People are communicating more of what
they have experienced, and the growing diversity of people making the reports is giving legitimacy to incredible
claims. Organizations dedicated to the research of these so-called “frontier sciences”, which once were considered
fringe, are now more so the mainstream. Frontier sciences encompass such disciplines as Ufology (the scientific study
of the unidentified flying object phenomena and of extraterrestrial civilizations), cryptozoology (the research of
animals which fall outside of contemporary zoological catalogs, also referred to as cryptids), paranormal research, and
parapsychology (the research into human psychic abilities).
There are still those who need more confirmation, though. To those, I have a few thoughts.

People wonder, with cause, if the supernatural and the paranormal exist. Western civilization in
particular has so enveloped themselves in the mundane of every day happenings that they have
relinquished their understanding of anything not typically thought of as being of this world.
Centuries ago, humans bore an incredible fear and respect for the paranormal. In their limited
mentalities (by today’s understandings), they created a mythos for each aspect of the paranormal
that naturally differed from peoples of other population centers and civilizations. Bigfoot’s,
monsters, vampires, trolls, and on and on. Since population centers could sometimes be widely

Many, if not most, of those who need confirmation are religious;
they believe in a God. They believe that God created the
universe, that He created mankind, and that He sent His only
Son to die for our sins. This same Son was credited with many,
many miracles, wonders that even today are considered very
singular in nature. The performance of miracles, the creation of
the universe, all of this can and should be considered
supernatural, even paranormal, because it is outside of nature’s
abilities as we understand them. We cannot see God, but we
know He exists. We cannot feel the Holy Spirit, but we feel His
presence in our lives. When we pass away, our souls have to go
somewhere. We know from physics that matter is neither
created nor destroyed. Therefore, our energy, our spirits,
continue to exist in some form. This very well could explain the
existence of ghosts. The Bible refers to spirit realms and
demons and angels, all of which exist in a world or reality outside
our own, but are able to affect us in this world. This sounds
paranormal to me.
The Bible teaches us that there are more fascinating things in this universe than we could even imagine. Who is to
say that God, in His infinite intelligence, did not choose to create other civilizations, alien entities that live on worlds
separate from our Earth? The peoples of the Middle East and Europe thought they were all there was, until they met
the ancient Americans. That resulted in quite a leap in understanding of their place in this world. The same process
could repeat itself again when an extraterrestrial representative appears on the evening news to teach us humble
Earthlings about an incredible cosmos.
There being more to this universe than any Human can ever imagine, who is to say that the current multiverse
(multiple universe / realities) thinking championed by theoretical physicist Dr. Michio Kaku is not correct, and that
representatives of another reality are not turning their pet Sasquatch out to run around in our wilderness real quick
before supper? Who is to say that the same process that allows representatives of other realities to cross into ours
is not being utilized to allow the entity referred to as the Loch Ness Monster, or Nessie, to wonder into a Scottish
loch for a swim before heading back home?
Albert Einstein taught us that everything has an equal and opposite reaction. In a relative vein, every thing has an
opposite. Good has bad, black has white, big has small. Shouldn’t visible matter then have invisible matter?
Shouldn’t one civilization have another? Do Humans have to be the only bipedal, intelligent, sentient being on this
planet or in this universe?
We are coming into a new world, one in which we must open our minds to the unbelievable and the impossible to
grasp. By discriminately doing so, by keeping a truly open, but skeptical mind, our knowledge of this reality and
others will naturally increase exponentially.
